i just received a brochure from a midwestern travel agency operated by jws that specialized in bethel tours.
i found this excerpt, relating to one item on the itinerary, as visit toe the holoccaust museum in washington quite interesting: "the museum is dedicated to presenting the story of how more than 30,000 jehovah's witnesses were persecuted by the nazis.
apparently the tour operators consider the slaugther of more than 6 million jews unworthy of mention!

the person giving it told me it was the best description of the experience he had went through which involved entering and exiting the watchtower over the course of only a few years.. .

i am looking for confirmation on the following:.
jws are now being individually assigned to smaller territories, and they are told to consistently work that same territory over & over again.
the reason is that the watchtower wants the jws to build relationships with the people in that area.
It seems they're thrashing about trying to find some way to reanimate the increasingly sluggish masses
inspired by many on jwn board, my goal is to every sunday study the article and find the manipulative parts.
if you would like to join me that would be great!
we can then find them together and then find what the scriptures or insights truly means with research, our own understanding, or maybe how it should be interpreted to ones self.

... and not to mention a virtual "pass" on going on in field service and attending meetings with the local yokels, by invoking "Bethel duties"
so i argue with the boyfriend a lot about the fact that i think charitable work is every bit as important as preaching when it comes to serving god.
every church i've ever gone to has some sort of community outreach, if not several outreaches, that have little or nothing to do with preaching.
and i made the point that if these people know you're affiliated with a church, they'll think a little more kindly about christians, too, which would help in the whole witnessing arena.
JW doctrine fosters disdain--- contempt even -- for the "worldlies" who are soon to be vaporized for not having listened to their "join us or die!" (per)version of the Good News.....
dear brothers and sisters, i watched a disturbing video on youtube of this born-againer beating the hell out of some old timers in utah( i think.
) and his conduct was hideous, not christlike one bit.
the question i pose to you is this, how many jws were you truly impressed by their use of the bible?
Ding, I agree entirely. The competence of the average JW to defend his/her beliefs with just the Bible in hand is at an all-tme low, and likely to get lower. As you say, they run for cover whenever a householder shows any semblance of ability to refute/contest any of their prepared statements.
i would like to relate with the first suicide that took place this year, this was more than seven months ago.
this person was deeply distraught and was talking about killing themself.
the conduct of this person started to escalate (deep depression with morbid thoughts.
Gubberningbody, I beg to differ: The incessant pressure to "do more" and put-down of any effort to fulfil one's perfectly normal desire for self-affirmation or personal worth through development of one's talents is unique to JWs, and an enormous contributor to one's sense of worthlessness.

True, so true WT Wizard; the only thing these guys excel at is making a bad situation worse; in this case with tragic consequences.
on sundays study we were always told to keep answers brief and from the paragraph as some brothers would add "other meterial" to their comments.
the "correct" answer is right there in the paragraph.
read question --------find answer in paragraph------underline/highlight------read related {not] scripture-----raise hand---give answer from paragraph as though it's your own thought.
Teary's classroom analogy is flawed in several respects; in the first -- and most obvious -- case, the WT conductor is not a "teacher" in the academic sense; he does not prepare the curriculum, select the reference materials or grade any paper submissions. He's as much of a student as those sitting in the KH seats, he just has the job of leading the session and is no futher advantaged with prior knowledge of the subject than anyone else in the room. His marching orders from Brooklyn are clear and unambiguous -- song, get the paragraph read, take comments, song, prayer and don't stray to far afield.
